SCOTTSDALE, AZ – James Ayers, an award-winning Colorado painter who specializes in portraying historic Native American cultures announces his return to Scottsdale’s Celebration of Fine Art show after a nine-year hiatus from the event.
Returning to the show is an important component in the artist’s strategy to incorporate more client and fan feedback into his work—activities that also include detailed blog posts on his compositions and research as well as maintaining active Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Missing the hubbub of the show environment
Beginning in 2003, Ayers took time off from an active show schedule to focus intently on studio work and gallery sales.
Although he was able to create an impressive body of work during this time, the artist found that isolation from fans and clients made for a myopic view of his work.
“I have learned that getting feedback and sharing conversation with people who love art enriches my skills as a painter,” the artist says. “I also believe that it helps clients understand the art that they bring into their lives, too.”
Celebration of Fine Art provides the perfect venue
“From my experience years ago and from recommendations from other artists and clients, I felt confident that the Celebration of Fine Art would be the right place to develop meaningful client relationships.” Ayers says. “Scottsdale is such an exciting art center and Celebration of Fine Art an important part of that atmosphere.”
The proprietors of the event are also delighted to welcome the artist back.
“James was always a favorite of our collectors, says Susan Potje, Celebration of Fine Art Co-owner. “His incredible artistic talent is matched by his dynamic personality and passion for telling the story. This is definitely the best place for him to connect with his collectors. We are all excited to welcome him back.”

Ayers specializes in historically accurate images of Native Americans, especially tribes and clans from the Great Plains and the Southwest such as Lakota, Crow, Blackfoot, Apache, and Navajo peoples.
Every one of Ayers’ paintings is rigorously researched and documented. The artist creates settings that emphasize important cultural aspects of the cultures he represents.
Ayers’ prices range between $4,800 and $28,000 for original oils and $110 to $700 for fine art giclée prints on canvas. The artist will have a mix of both originals and prints available for sale in his working studio at Celebration of Fine Art.
“I am bringing paintings to Celebration of Fine Art sure to thrill lovers of historic American Indian imagery,” says Ayers. “Buyers will be able to choose from a range of subject matter from warriors to maidens to historic people and scenes.”
